About this blog

My original intention for starting this blog (still in its infancy) was to document my personal process in designing fonts, mostly for my own amusement and the usual reasons that one keeps a journal. But, in addition to my own musings, I can see that this blog can also serve as a resource, or guide to resources, related to type design, that might not only be useful to me, but to other type designers and anybody else interested in type design.

In my on-going attempt to educate myself about type design, I often bookmark type-related sites or print out relevant articles. However, I quickly lose track of where things are and can't find information when I need it. It occurred to me that this blog would be a good place to store references to all this information; a place I'm not likely to lose. In fact, now I can even access the information on my iPod Touch when I'm away from home, if there's wi-fi handy. So, that gives me even more incentive to collect everything I need here.

So, as I find useful information on the web related directly to type design, I will post links here: type design tutorials and guides, type design book reviews, interviews with type designers, upcoming type-related events, and so on. But, I'm only one person, so if you find something that you think would be helpful to include here, please let me know. I will continue to document my own type design process here, both inner and outer, in the hope that you might find it useful, or at least amusing. Of course, your feedback, editorial contributions, and suggestions are always welcome.
